Chapter 372: Chapter 203: Maid Outfits Are the Soul (2)
’The Attribute boost from Cultivator Companion transfers from the person with the higher stat to the one with the lower. So, what happens in a situation where we each have certain Attributes that are higher than the other’s?’
’For example, Shefilya’s Agility Attribute is higher than mine, while my other Attributes are higher than hers. In that case, is the Attribute boost a fixed, one-way transfer to me? Or is it randomly one-way to either me or Shefilya? Or, in the most ideal scenario, could it be a simultaneous, two-way enhancement?’
’I can ask Shefilya about this later, or I can just test it out through more practice.’
’There’s another question. The Attribute boost from this Skill is added to one’s Basic Attributes. So, when determining which stat is "higher" or "lower," is it based purely on Basic Attributes, or on the total Attributes after factoring in Profession bonuses?’
’If it’s the latter, that wouldn’t be good.’
’My total Agility Attribute isn’t that far behind Shefilya’s anymore—the gap is less than twenty points.’
’But if the comparison is based on Basic Attributes, then I’m still far behind her, by nearly forty points. That way, I could receive a larger and longer-lasting boost from her.’
’Unfortunately, it seems I won’t get an answer to this anytime soon. Everything will have to be confirmed through practice.’
Lin Mo stood, washed his face, and was just about to get dressed when the door was pushed open.
Shefilya walked in, wearing a new but identical Maid outfit. She bowed slightly to him. "Master."
Then, quite naturally, she came over to help him get dressed.
’This feeling... Hmm, it’s strange, but it’s also really nice.’
"The meal is ready. Miss Ali and Miss Lena are waiting for you downstairs."
Shefilya said as she worked.
"Okay..."
Lin Mo nodded, managing to swallow the "thank you" that was on the tip of his tongue.
’Saying ’thank you’ right now wouldn’t make her happy. In fact, it would probably make the young Maid feel quite frustrated, right?’
’Sometimes, respect and gratitude don’t need to be spoken aloud. Actions are proof enough.’
He went downstairs to the main hall. Just as Shefilya had said, Ali and Lena were already sitting at the table.
Today was Lena’s day off. After breakfast, she planned to head out to the courtyard to study her crops.
Her progress in planting seemed to be going very smoothly lately; she was already a Semi-professional Level Planting Master.
However, she still lacked certain necessary factors to reach the Professional Level.
When Little Wolf Girl Ali saw Lin Mo come down, her gaze immediately shifted to Shefilya, who was following behind him.
As a perceptive Half-Beastman, she wasn’t as oblivious as Lena. Being more... experienced, Ali could clearly pick up on the subtle changes and naturally knew what had happened the night before.
It wasn’t entirely unexpected, though. She had been mentally prepared for it.
So there was no real tension or aggression; she just nodded at Shefilya before turning a somewhat reproachful gaze on Lin Mo.
Lin Mo felt a bead of sweat on his forehead. He feigned composure as he walked over and ruffled her hair.
Ali’s eyes immediately narrowed in pleasure, and she began to actively rub her head against his hand.
’Good, she seems easy enough to pacify... Or maybe she was just looking for an excuse to get some affection from me.’
Lin Mo breathed a sigh of relief. But then he thought about the future, and how the number of people he’d have to manage had just grown from one to two. It was giving him a headache.
’Looks like I’ll need to practice my Knight Profession Skills more often and raise my Constitution Attribute a little higher.’
After breakfast, he still had important things to do today.
Lin Mo left the manor and headed straight for Adventurer Street.
He had just learned two Ranger Profession Skills yesterday, but he didn’t have a bow yet. He needed to find a decent one.
He wasn’t exactly short on money, so if he was going to buy a bow, Lin Mo wanted to get one of Excellent Level.
He’d heard, however, that the Blacksmith employed by the Association wasn’t skilled at making bows and Crossbows. Furthermore, shipments from other regions hadn’t been restocked recently. As a result, the Adventurer’s Association in Silver Stream City didn’t have any good bows for sale. At best, they only had some of the lower-quality ones within the Excellent Level.
Given the Association’s typically high prices, he’d be better off checking a proper blacksmith’s forge.
Besides the Adventurer’s Association, the only place in Silver Stream City that sold Excellent Level weapons was Shop No. 11 on Adventurer Street. It was also the largest blacksmith’s forge in the entire city.
Adventurer Street was bustling in the morning. With the retreat of the Goblin Army, the city’s Adventurers had gradually started to become active again over the past two days.
However, since they had just gone through that major battle, many of the Adventurers who participated weren’t in a hurry to take on quests. The Adventurer’s Association was therefore relatively empty, with most people flocking to Adventurer Street instead.
After all, many Adventurers had reaped significant rewards from the goblin siege. Once they got paid, they would naturally invest that money. Aside from spending a little on life’s pleasures, most would put their earnings toward equipment and Alchemy Potions to boost their immediate Combat Power. That way, they could complete future quests more effectively, earn even more money, and get the chance to hone their skills and increase their strength.
This was especially true for a famous forge like Shop No. 11, which now had a constant, bustling stream of customers.
Lin Mo looked at the crowd packed inside the shop and felt a headache coming on.
Forget about picking out a weapon; just squeezing inside looked difficult.
