Chapter 2202: Eternal Skyfire

Time flows like a river, history rolls forward.

Five hundred years ago, between the years 196 and 216 of the Federal Calendar, was the era of fiercest conflict among Terra Residents and Interspace Residents since the ’Unified War’.

The ’Century Rebellion’, occurring in the last decade of the second century, lasted a considerable amount of time. Combined with numerous wars, including the ’Frost Campaign’, it was collectively referred to in history as the ’Twenty-Year War’.

Beginning with the ’Valentine Conflict’ (Terra Valentine’s Day is December 12th), friction arose during military exercises between the Terra Federation, the Lunar City Alliance, and the Cosmic City-State League, swiftly escalating into conflict and even war. Within just a year, the three parties directly transitioned into full-scale war, each blaming the other as the cause of the conflict.

At the same time, the Celestial Kin Clusters from Jupiter, claiming to be the genuine humans’ Domain of Void-synthesized intelligent bodies, took the opportunity to launch attacks on Terra’s homeland. Behind the war, as the death toll increased rapidly, restless Undead in the Domain of Void staged the ’Wall-Breaking Action’, releasing a large number of dangerous Spiritual Bodies from Underworld constraints, wandering between the Domain of Void and the present realm.

Shortly after, the freedom organization known as the ’Shadowglen Army’, borrowing the name of ’Ghost Valley Knight’, began assassinating the leaders of various organizations. With formidable technical prowess, the Shadowglen Army developed a new type of Aether Armament with unimaginable strength, including the ’Netherworld Furnace’ that could break through the barriers between the present realm and Domain of Void, boasting nearly perpetual combat capabilities.

Riding the ’Netherworld Armament’, the Shadowglen Army aggressively attacked the leadership centers of major powers, resulting in the deaths of Lecar Harden, the fiftieth leader of the Federation, and Berna Mahada, the leader of the Lunar City Alliance.

The Shadowglen Army proclaimed their intention to assassinate the culprits behind the war for peace, attempting to use terror to deter violence. However, the war did not cease despite the deaths of the leaders, instead intensifying further—they misunderstood that Terra People are not afraid of death, especially those who have already grown accustomed to the existence of the Underworld and waged war with all their might.

Indeed, due to the deaths of leaders, substantial military factions materialized within both the Federation and the Lunar City Alliance.

More than thirty different forces emerged and vanished in succession, as if people were releasing the accumulated hatred from two hundred years of peace all at once. Historical records from that period are difficult to examine, but from indirect information, during the decade-long war, the total population in the Terra Starfield decreased by one-third. This includes a portion of the Deceased who couldn’t even be classified as Undead in the Underworld, dissolving into the Cosmic Starry Sky beyond the reach of the Underworld.

During this period, the legendary ’Frost Campaign’ transpired.

To seize the Ice Abyss Key discovered on Terra’s ninth planet Vesta, a remarkable Arcane War erupted involving three Federation generals, the Sage of the Independent Silverpeak Army, two Grand Commanders of the Lunar Cities, three City Lords of the Cosmic City-State League, and the ’Grand Lord’ of the Celestial Kin Clusters.

With the Aether Armament as the core, harnessing the power of the stars, ten peak-strength warriors unleashed destruction akin to the former Fifth Energy Level in this era lacking Ether, completely shattering Vesta’s icy crust and transforming it into a furnace planet, changing Fire Hell from an ice prison.

Many figures near myth were born during this war.

The last Prophet, the second generation Silver Peak Sage [Foreseer Aldo], rose with miraculous momentum. Starting with a civilian security company, he gradually became a renowned Arcane Scholar within the human civilization circle. Before the second-century rebellion, he gained the support of a General, leading a special task force that dismantled several rebellions and coups occurring in Newland (New Continent).

With this influence, Sage Aldo quelled the increasing waves of ’anti-privilege movements’ within the Federation, curbed the internal corruption trend, and even became a Federation President.

However, the Federation’s issue with exile, or rather, the inability to recover through internal reforms after voting to lock most of the ’Synthesis Intelligence’s’ permissions, made inevitable war. Thus Aldo opted to accumulate strength within the Federation, making choices at critical moments that could change the world’s direction.

After the Frost Campaign, Silver Peak Sage Aldo claimed victory ahead of other powers by mastering Abyssal power. Although the forbidden power elevated Aldo beyond all other competitors, he understood profoundly that the Abyssal power must never be lost control of nor abused.

Nevertheless, no matter how clearly one comprehends certain matters or how bitter certain fruits may be, one can only swallow the bitter fruit facing the current situation.

Using Abyssal power, Aldo summoned the ’Seventy-Two Abyssal Demon Pillars’, and initiated the ’Re-Unification War’. By the end of Federal Calendar 216 and the 1000th year of the old Tara Calendar, he utterly defeated all opposition within the Terra Starfield, accomplishing the grand feat of ’Second Unification’.

Since then, under the name of the Philosopher King, Sage Aldo established the present [Sacred Terra Federation], ruling over the Sacred Terra Federation for nearly a century, reshaping the collective consciousness of the people, forming the national religious faith based on ’Huai Guang Holy Spirit’.

Afterward, to suppress Abyssal power, Sage Aldo departed Terra, and his disciple, the third generation Castsky Sage, became the new Philosopher King.
