Chapter 2195: EX Sky, Pioneer, and Pioneer Space

Civilization. Civilization is like a cage, imprisoning the mind and freedom.

This is a maxim truer than the Logos itself; the loves and hates of life are merely the fuel for civilization. When humans learn how to become themselves, they are destined to find themselves in a cage, unending and inescapable.

For millions of years, the disputes between the collective and the individual have never ceased. For the sake of life and continuity, independent lives have turned themselves into part of civilization. For greater efficiency, they alienate themselves, becoming leaders and knights, warriors, blacksmiths, and farmers under those leaders.

Ants may be devoured by larger insects, but an anthill can endure for hundreds of millions of years. Life continually sacrifices itself to shape a colossal machine called civilization, which roars and burns, swallowing the blood of humans and their human enemies, exchanging it for more life to possess the luxury called the future.

Time is like a windmill, ceaselessly turning with the never-ending wind.

The Vast Sea becomes mulberry fields, mountains turn to plains, the empty wilderness becomes lush, and the once silent You Gu transforms into a child’s playground. Human cities rise and fall, repeating the cycle dozens of times, ultimately becoming today’s towering spires that pierce the clouds.

This is something only those in the cage can achieve, as the inhabitants expand the borders of the cage step by step, reaching the ends of the Earth.

Thus, the cage is the world, and the world is the cage.

However, beyond the infinite cage, there lies an infinite distance.

Silver light gleams at the farthest ends of the world, tearing through all darkness, illuminating all gloom and obscurity.

In Terra Year 839, Federal Calendar Year 50, on an unremarkable morning, the air was slightly dry, and sunlight streamed through the narrow window, casting into a room with little dust.

In the center of the room, a massive silver machine spewed out white steam, its semi-transparent cover slowly opening to reveal the face of a dark-haired young man behind it.

Aldo Silverpeak awoke from his dreams.

The first thing he noticed upon awakening was a hint of a burning smell. The hibernation pod’s thermal function seemed to have gone awry during the winter; he needed to find time to fix this old thing.

Otherwise, one day he might end up cooked inside the pod, inexplicably becoming both a resident of the Domain of Void and a laughingstock among the younger generation in the Moon’s new district.

After all, being over thirty years old, this old thing predating even his own age only now started having issues. It can only be said that the first-generation hibernation pod manufactured in the Silverpeak Domain lived up to its status as a model product; its quality was indeed robust.

Rubbing his eyes, the teenager with the Silverpeak surname, at most only in his teens, stepped out of the hibernation pod and changed into his clothes.

Fifty-five years ago, ’The Sage Guiding the Future,’ the first True God to ascend Above the Sky and reach the Star God’s domain, Ian Silverpeak departed beyond the heavens (incidentally taking nearly all humans of the Fifth Energy Level on the whole Terra), and the Terra Continent, after sixteen hundred years of unceasing strife and opposition, finally gradually became peaceful.

The saints of the Four Great Orthodox Churches swore not to interfere in any worldly matters until a Monarch was born again in the human world, and the True Dragons also left the earth, intending to rebuild Dragon Island and, following the Creator’s instructions, become a bulwark watching over civilization.

The Fae also concealed their homeland, though many fae still traveled the world, Fairy Homeland and Falling Star City both delved deep into the Domain of Void, rejecting those curious visitors who did not meet the requirements. They had their own mission.

The human world was unified, and the King Blood [Sunbird] selected by the Sage became the sole ruler of this planet. Yet, there were also those who said the King Blood chosen by the Sage was not singular, and that the Bloodline known as [Wolf of the Azure Sky] was also King Blood, only, as in the past, the Sunbird always outran the Wolf of the Azure Sky by a step.

The entire world utterly transformed.

The central faction, led by the former Empire and the opposition faction, led by the former Azure Sky Royal Court, announced their merger after simple negotiations, forming the ’Terra Federation,’ and promulgated a new calendar with the year of the Silver Peak Sage’s ascent as the first year.

The Terra Federation’s first Fifth Energy Level president was the former Imperial Emperor of the Sertar Empire, Aina Sertar. Although young, like the second Federation president, Gaer Ximor, they were among the initial followers of the Silver Peak Sage’s Arcane Pathway. Thus, in just a few short years, Aina inherited the Top Seat’s Blood through a ritual, becoming the first Fifth Energy Level of the Sage Era.

However, unlike the era before the Sage when the Fifth Energy Level had the final say, in the unified Federation era, Fifth Energy Level still possessed extremely powerful strength and power, but they must also adhere to the Federal laws and cannot disregard the rules.

The Four Great Orthodox Churches and all True Dragons and fae swore not to interfere in changes within human society; however, should the powerful wish to violate laws and alter the standards left by the Silver Peak Sage, these remaining Fifth Energy Levels would intervene without hesitation to bring everything back on track.

Five years. In five years, the entire Terra was completely unified, the Federation’s brilliance illuminating the entire planet, and the Silverpeak Domain, as the Sage’s homeland, also became ’Southern Capital,’ one of the Federation’s five capitals.

The sky-reaching space elevator, skyscrapers as tall as mountains, skyships like intertwined rivers, and the ’Magical Web’ spreading across the globe, together constructed a frightening entity called [Unified Era Civilization], encapsulating all life forms, turning them into insignificant parts, components of that roaring, operating colossal machine.
