Chapter 2189 - 2: Do You Really Love Life That Much, Star God?
Chapter 2189: Chapter 2: Do You Really Love Life That Much, Star God?
In the beginning.
There was only a beam of light.
Always moving forward, a light that could only move forward.
It was born from the [eternal past that no one knew], heading towards [an infinite future that no one could foresee].
It sped through the scorching past, moving towards the icy future. It never cared about what it had experienced or knew what its goal was.
It swept past countless stars, whether rock or sea, whether dark or shining, all were irrelevant to it.
It broke through the Starfield, broke through star clusters, broke through the universe, reaching beyond the universe, into the chaotic Sea of Void, and the deep void of the Multiverse.
It did not care about these things, it even broke through the barriers of the Multiverse, arriving at other Multiverses, other incredible places.
But it never pondered the [meaning of existence].
Because it only knew to move forward.
It was just a light.
Later.
As the future turned into the present, at some unknown time, the straight-moving light unexpectedly returned to the original Multiverse.
It returned, sweeping through stars and worlds again from different directions.
Everything was entirely different.
Those scorching stars, those icy voids, in the empty void, many worlds began to shine, seemingly with many different things flickering inside.
As long as the light moves forward, it simply moves forward, forward, irrespective of direction.
It moved forward, returned to the original Space-Time.
There, the ancient source of light had already hidden in the past.
In the present, its place was a star.
On that small sand-colored star, some life sensed the arrival of light.
It was a beam piercing the Firmament, breaking the darkness, dazzling and stunning, so beautiful it made one tremble, an incomparably glorious light.
So they raised their heads.
Life raised its head.
They—them.
In their pupils, that light seemed to contain [Great Expansion].
They seemed to glimpse from that dream-like magnificent light, the innumerable stars it had passed through, countless universes, endless, [boundaryless] views transcending time and space and [far].
The light departed.
It was just a moment.
It was just an instant.
It did not notice, or rather, it never had any ’interest’. It was merely light, thus never cared about where it passed, nor what life was there, nor whether any other life was watching it.
The light did not know it was also the convergence of all gazes.
Hence, years later.
After so very much distant time.
Such a fleet, such a group, some lives yearning for [far] embarked on their journey.
They set on the journey.
A far-off, possibly endless, possibly meaningless journey.
Thus they endured.
Endured.
Endured the barren cold of the dark universe, endured the vivid crimson of internal strife among their kind. Endured the silent bitterness of time’s erosion, endured life’s cowardice toward its meaninglessness.
They endured death, endured life.
They cried and sang.
Awake feeling drunk, they wandered feeling mad.
They chewed on the thought of ’never possible to realize’, mourning for ’my meaningless life’, shuddering under the gaze of each passing day, watching tomorrow turn into today, today turn into yesterday.
But.
They never forgot.
Never forgot their original purpose.
Forgot their original dream.
They wanted... they wanted to pursue...
Wanted to witness again that radiant light piercing Firmament and darkness.
Wanted to pursue that distant, vanished Glorious Light above the Sky.
The beautiful, magnificent, merely gazing upon it would make hearts race, bringing forth [Beauty] formed by [Love].
The most intoxicating [Star] in the world.
They—It.
Ultimately chased it down.
Traversing the universe’s Space-Time, to beyond the Sea of Void, they pursued, penetrating all barriers, surpassing all high walls, transcending all trials, achieving all describable and indescribable feats.
Finally, they too became light.
Ultimately caught up to that light that made them look heavenward, made them set sail towards the far, made them tirelessly and endlessly navigate.
—Life’s light extended an invitation to the light.
—Life’s light said to the light: Please don’t stop, our light.
—For nothing in this world can compare to your magnificence.
—You shall travel through all that is everything, the infinite Infinite, you shall know everything that is everything, complete the completeness.
—Please keep moving forward, towards the unknown tomorrow, towards the future not yet known, towards the never-ending end, towards the unknown we never knew.
Light.
It.
From the start, it had no meaning, merely [existed].
From the start, it had no purpose, merely [continued].
From the start, it had no mind, merely [nihility].
But perhaps from that day, perhaps from that instant.
That light gained direction.
—Towards far, that is our goal.
—Let Exploration continue. Let it never cease.
Life’s light gave color to light, meaningless, nihilistic existence of light was bestowed with meaning.
Because meaning is the [direction] life seeks for itself.
If light also has direction, makes all life yearn, pursue its path, unconsciously, forming a [Dao].
