13th Elder was so amazed at Su Mo’s achievements that he did not expose Su Mo’s identity, but rather, gave him an opportunity to approach Xi’er.

He had also been moved by compassion to help Su Mo as he had loved someone deeply when he was younger, but due to various factors, they were not able to end up together.

Today, their love had not withstood the test of time and was now nothing but dust.

Su Mo’s determination in pursuing what he loved touched 13th Elder deeply.

“I hope you’ll know your limits!” 13th Elder sighed. He knew that even if Su Mo entered Emperor Xuan Palace, his chances of defeating Shangguan Hao were slim to none.

Firstly, Shangguan Hao was like a mountain that could not be moved to Su Mo. No matter how talented Su Mo was, he would never be his match.

If Su Mo refused to acknowledge his limits, he would ultimately perish!

13th Elder was absolutely sure of that.

Su Mo remained blissfully unaware that his identity had been compromised. After leaving 13th Elder’s palace, he did not rush to find Xi’er, but instead decided to plan his next steps carefully.

Soon, Su Mo arrived at the foot of the mountain to find that there were indeed hundreds of palaces here.

Su Mo selected a suitable uninhabited one for himself and decided to temporarily settle down here.

As he sat cross-legged on the futon within the palace, he started to mull through his options.

He could not help but feel excited at the thought of seeing Xi’er again, but at the same time, he was also a little nervous. He was not sure if Xi’er’s feelings for him had changed!

Everything seemed uncertain.

After a while, Su Mo took a deep breath, cast aside all these thoughts and started to cultivate.

His Spiritual Spirals whirled and his Dark Force surged as Su Mo focused on refining his Dark Force.

Night came and passed in a blink of an eye!

The next morning, Su Mo changed into a yellow long robe and strode out of his palace.

He stood outside, gazed at the most central peak and took a deep breath. He shot up in the air and flew toward that peak.

There was no Air-sealing formation within the inner palace, so Su Mo could fly at will.

Central Emperor Peak was clearly the core mountain peak of the Inner Palace. From his vantage point, Su Mo could see many people on the peak, most of them disciples of the Inner Palace.

However, it was definitely less crowded as compared to the Outer Palace since the number of Inner Palace disciples was less than 1% of the Outer Palace disciples.

It did not take long before Su Mo landed on Emperor Peak.

There was a large square just before him and nine towering stone pillars at over 300 meters tall surrounded the square. Life-like dragons were engraved on every stone pillar.

These dragons were engraved with their fang and claws bared. They spiraled around the stone pillars with their mouths facing the square.

Dense Spiritual Qi constantly poured out from their mouths and thus, the entire square and Emperor Peak had the highest concentration of Spiritual Qi.

There were hundreds of disciples in the square, some of them were cultivating with their eyes closed, while others were engaged in idle chatter.

Over 90% of these Inner Palace disciples were of Martial King Realm cultivation, all giving off a powerful aura.

“This is really a great place to cultivate!” Su Mo was secretly surprised when he saw the scene in front of him.

The Spiritual Qi here was much more concentrated as compared to the outside world and with Spiritual Qi constantly pouring out of these nine dragon pillars, it was truly a precious location for cultivating.

Su Mo was not interested in this area though, he rarely absorbed Spiritual Qi from the natural environment, but mainly relied on devouring Spiritual Stones or Spiritual Herbs.

Even if the Spiritual Qi here was ten times more concentrated, he would still not be able to cultivate as quickly as his current methods.

Su Mo’s arrival had attracted the attention of many Inner Palace disciples since his cultivation was much too low.

However, the attention did not last long for there also many disciples within Inner Palace who had not reached Martial King Realm yet.

Many of the disciples the elders took in also entered Inner Palace despite not having entered Martial King Realm.

Su Mo walked into the square, sat cross-legged and started to cultivate quietly.

As much as he wanted to see Xi’er, he could not approach her directly but had to proceed with caution.

“Senior Brother Ma, you’ve made great progress in your cultivation!”

“I heard that you managed to pull off such a feat because the Holy Son had given you advice!”

“Amazing! No wonder you managed to make such great progress, it was all thanks to the Holy Son.”

“Ha ha! Just this little bit of progress is nothing!’

Su Mo heard a group of disciples bantering with each other.

Su Mo’s ears perked up at the mention of Shangguan Hao.

“Senior Brother Ma, I’d also like to seek the Holy Son’s advice on some issues I’m facing. I wonder when he would come out of seclusion?” one of the disciples asked.

“Senior Brother Shangguan has come out of seclusion yesterday!” Senior Brother Ma said.

“He’s out of seclusion?”

“Has he broken through to Martial Royal Realm?”

“That’s was incredibly fast!”

Senior Brother Ma’s remark had caused many disciples to be amazed and they all clamoured to know more.

Su Mo was similarly shocked at the news and his heart was filled with dread.

Shangguan Hao had come out of seclusion!

Did he really manage to break through?

Su Mo’s heart sank.

Then, he heard Senior Brother Ma reply, “Do you think breaking through to Martial Royal Realm is such a simple feat? Brother Shangguan has not done so yet, but he is close to doing so!”

Everyone agreed with his words. Indeed, breaking through to Martial Royal Realm was no small matter. Even if the Holy Son possessed extraordinary talent, it would be very unlikely to break through so quickly!

Su Mo let out a small sigh of relief upon hearing that. Things would be a bit more complicated if Shangguan Hao had truly managed to break through!

However, this meant that Su Mo had to be even more careful if he wanted to see Xi’er!

Su Mo did not rush to find Xi’er but rather, continued to sit quietly in the square and listen to the surrounding chatter while figuring out a plan.

As the Holy Son and Maiden of Emperor Xuan Palace, everyone liked to exchange news on Shangguan Hao and Xi’er.

As time passed, Su Mo managed to glean a lot of useful information from his few hours at the square.

For example, Shangguan Hao and XI’er’s engagement was decreed by the Palace Master of Emperor Xuan Palace, Di Shi.

Furthermore, Xi’er had not agreed to the engagement initially, but later changed her mind.

This change of attitude confused Su Mo. If Xi’er’s feelings had not changed, there was no way she would have agreed to be engaged to Shangguan Hao.

Why then did she first oppose before agreeing to the engagement?

Did her feelings really change?

Or was there some other reason that caused her to reverse her initial decision?

Su Mo could not figure it out. After a while, he shook his head and decided to head back first, then figure out a plan after careful consideration.

Suddenly, he heard exclamations nearby.

“Look, it is the Holy Son and Maiden!”
