Rise of Humanity

Chapter 240

Chapter 240 - Identity - Exposed!

“... has finally established a foothold…”, such few simple words had caused Zhong Yue to be so emotional, he was only able to stand firm in the East Barren by risking his life!

He had fought countless battles, been in the claws of death, and escaped from it numerous times. Finally, all of his hard work had finally paid off!

He has fought for his name, killed for his prestige. He now had his own reputation and forces in the East Barren!

Only he knew how many struggles and pain he had gone through.

All of this, is for the human race, for the Great Wilderness.

---

Zhong Yue regained his composure and started his cultivation, trying to break through to the next level, the Atman Body.

Qing He and Long Chun’er were arranging and sorting out the gifts sent by the monster race forces. Grouping them up, they had found some valuable treasures that would be useful, such as the medicinal pellets that could be consumed to progress cultivation, rare materials that could be forged into soul weapons, and on top of those, there were still some treasures with various marvelous functions that would require Zhong Yue to test them out.

As for the alluring maid servants in the Storm Courtyard, Zhong Yue didn’t trust them at all. Instead, Zhong Yue only trusted in the four human ladies and Qing He.

Calming his thoughts down, Zhong Yue tried to coalesce his Yuan Shen and mortal body together, advancing into the level of the Atman Body. Before this, at the riverside, he had found the way to coalesce his Yuan Shen and mortal body together. Sadly, it only lasted for a few moments, and he had fallen back into the level of Awakening from the momentary Atman Body cultivation level.

But now, he was trying to advance into the level of Atman Body, and stand firm in that cultivation level!

The Yuan Shen had entered his body, starting to coalesce with his mortal body; but all of a sudden, the two elements repelled one another abruptly. He had given it a few more tries, but the same thing would happen over and over again. He kept failing the moment before succeeding, making him frown.

In terms of foundation, my cultivation base is even stronger than the ordinary Atman Body experts. In terms of talent, I’ve been nourished by the divinity in the godly bones, my talent is surely enough. In terms of cultivation technique, the【Sui Sovereign Flame Order Palace Visualization Art】taught by Xin Huo is definitely one of the strongest cultivation techniques in this world, while all of the other techniques like the【Monster God Ming King Art】and【Great Boundless Sword Qi】are also the rarest and strongest techniques! So just exactly what is going wrong…?”

Zhong Yue pondered deeply, immersing himself in his thoughts. After a long time, he finally realized the crux of what he was lacking.

His understanding of the level of Atman Body was insufficient, the connection between his Yuan Shen third form and his mortal body was not strong enough, they were unable to perfectly coalesce together. This was why he kept failing from advancing further to the next cultivation level!

All this time, Zhong Yue had been cultivating on his own. He was like a lone man walking his own path in the dark. Unlike the other disciples, there wasn’t any teacher that had guided him along the way. The inner hall Qi Practitioners of Swords Gate, they had eight hall masters who would teach them the ways of cultivation, prompt them in the key points of advancing to the next level and the risks along in the cultivation progress. They were showered with the knowledge of the hall masters, they knew exactly what they should do and how to do it. Surely, their cultivation progress would be much more smoother.

The monster race and dragon race disciples also had their seniors and teachers who would teach them the right way, and they wouldn’t venture down the wrong path and waste their precious time.

But Zhong Yue was different, he had been roaming around the lands in the world. The days he had spent in Swords Gate was countable, he hadn’t received much instruction from Swords Gate. In the monster race, Shi Buyi probably hoped for him to die more than anything else, and he had only been to the dragon race once, but the Ao Clan was so stingy that they didn’t tell him how to cultivate, either.

The only one that had truly provided help in his cultivation progress was Xin Huo, but the little flame was like a match on the dark path, he would only emerge when he was in the mood. At times, he would even disappear and leave Zhong Yue completely helpless on the spot, he was not unreliable at all. Most of the time, Xin Huo would just tempt Zhong Yue to have sexual intercourse with the girls to reproduce and hope to find a pureblood Fuxi among his descendants.

All of this has left Zhong Yue with no choice but to slowly walk his own path, attaining his own understandings, and even furtively learn from other Qi Practitioners, look at the ways they had cultivated, then amend and adapt it for himself.

It was already unexplainably lucky for him to cultivate for so long without him deviating into a bad end.

Shi Buyi imparted me with his attainments in the【Monster God Ming King Art】, maybe it’ll contain some attainments he had at the level of Atman Body which I can use as a reference.

Zhong Yue suddenly thought of this, and he started sorting out the knowledge imparted him by Shi Buyi.

Immediately, the image of Shi Buyi when he was breaking through the level of Atman Body appeared in Zhong Yue’s mind; back then, Shi Buyi was still a distinguished and admirable, young and handsome monster Qi Practitioner.

--

Shi Buyi had traveled across the seas and lands, he was on the Jinxiu Island on the borders of the Eastern Sea, looking at the blooming flowers, he had fun with a few young monster beauties.

The flowers were blooming gracefully with the bees and butterflies waltzing around the bushes, Shi Buyi donned a jade-green robe, surrounded with the alluring laughter of the monster beauties as they played around the grasslands.

And suddenly, a flower caught Shi Buyi’s attention. Despite its ordinary appearance that was no any different from its peers, Shi Buyi saw something different: a chrysalis beneath its petals.

In the chrysalis, there was a little butterfly, still extremely weak and fragile. And all of a sudden, the butterfly moved, it woke up from its deep slumber and tried to extricate itself from the chrysalis that was around it. Looking at it, a smile transformed Shi Buyi’s face, as he was touched by the scene.

Meticulously, he embraced the flower and the chrysalis in the middle of his palm, he watched as the little butterfly defeated the chrysalis that caged it and flared out its little wings, slowly flying into the air.

The butterfly flew out from his palm and the flower bloomed gracefully in his hands, while the monster beauties were having fun playing around the beautiful grassland.

Right at this moment, Shi Buyi’s heart was touched by nature, his Yuan Shen emerged behind him and slowly coalesced with his mortal body. Abruptly, a cocoon wrapped around him. When he had extricated himself from the cocoon cage, he had morphed into the true form of the eight-armed Ming King, smiling as he piced up a blooming flower.

--

Zhong Yue saw the process of how Shi Buyi had broken through the cultivation barrier into the next level. The scenery was indeed picturesque, giving him some insights.

“To emerge from a chrysalis to become a butterfly, the mortal body transformation from a little larvae into a butterfly is indeed, quite similar to the level of Atman Body and the state of [Atman Body as One] into the combat form of the Yuan Shen…”

Zhong Yue pondered deeply, he felt like as if one of his legs has already crossed to the other side of the door, a sign that he was at the brim of breaking through to a whole new cultivation level.

He carefully studied and attained more and more insights, his heart was filled with excitement. However, despite the large number of insights he had gained, he was still half a step away from advancing through the door.

Shi Buyi’s attainments were after all, Shi Buyi’s, his experiences had allowed him to come to a realization that helped him in understanding the ways of achieving the state of [Atman Body as One]. It did not matter how much Zhong Yue studied it, the insights he could get were definitely way less than Shi Buyi.

I need a deeper understanding to achieve the state of [Atman Body as One], but this kind of experience that can enlighten one’s comprehension is very hard to come by.

Zhong Yue lamented but he didn’t push it either. Right at this time, a laugh came into his ears, “Junior Martial Brother Long Yue, I’m here to visit you. I wonder if junior martial brother is free to have a small talk with me? I’ve some matters to ask you, it’s regarding Junior Martial Sister Chi Liannu!”

“Lang Qingyun?”

Zhong Yue’s face turned dark and gloomy, I was hunted incessantly in the East Barren because someone was constantly telling my whereabouts to the monsters! This Lang Qingyun is the biggest suspect. He was there the day I fought a bloody path back to the territorial land of Gu Xia City. If it wasn’t Gu Hongzi, I might’ve been dead at his hands already. This Lang Qingyun, he is very suspicious, my soul lamp might just be in his hands!

He then relaxed his face and put up a smile, there wasn’t any displeasure that could be seen on him. Walking out to the door, he saw Lang Qingyun was in a huge and furry overcoat of a dark black color, walking towards him with a smile.

Beside Lang Qingyun was a quiet and charming young lady, carrying herself like a highly educated maiden. She was the fourth disciple of Shi Buyi, Lian Xin.

There was a winter-white tail behind her. Although she was called Lian Xin, Zhong Yue could not see through her true form and tell what animal or plant has she cultivated from. However, there was one thing for sure, she was definitely not a cultivated lotus.

“Big senior martial brother, and fourth senior martial sister, quick, quick, come in.”

Zhong Yue welcomed the two into the Storm Courtyard and gave them seats. He ordered Long Qiu’er to prepare a pot of tea and serve the two guests, then said with a smile, “Big senior martial brother and fourth senior martial sister are here to ask about Senior Martial Sister Chi Liannu? Why did you come and ask me?”

Lian Xin’s voice was soft and charming, she said, “Senior Martial Sister Chi Liannu followed you to the dragon race, but she has yet to return, we are very worried about her safety.”

“I’ve heard news from the Jinxiu Island, the Eastern sea dragon race is looking for her, even the Jiao Clan has sent out numerous experts to search for her everywhere.”

Lang Qingyun laughed and said, “Furthermore, although you and I are both disciples of the same teacher, we seldom get in touch with one another. Hence, I’ve purposely come over to pull closer the relationship between the two of us.”

Zhong Yue was enlightened, he laughed and said, “I see, but big senior martial brother and fourth senior martial sister, Senior Martial Sister Chi liannu and I split up and went on our own paths right when we have arrived at the Eastern Sea. Even I am not sure where she is now. Our dear teacher must have Senior Martial Sister Chi Liannu’s soul lamp, big senior martial brother can ask our teacher and then we can find out where Senior Martial Sister Chi Liannu is at now.”

Lang Qingyun and Chi Liannu looked at one another, then shook their heads and said, “Our teacher is now in closed-door training, who dares to interrupt him?”

Zhong Yue then said apologetically, “Then I can’t do anything either. But before I left the Eastern Sea, I heard that Senior Martial Sister Chi Liannu had copulated with a Jiao Clan expert and sucked away all of his essences, causing his death. That was why the Jiao Clan was enraged. It seems like the Jiao Clan is not going to stop so easily. Although I’m her junior martial brother, I can’t do anything to help out the situation at all. After all, I’m also one of the dragon race.”

Lian Xin nodded silently.

“It’s really a tough job for junior martial brother.”

Lang Qingyun sighed, he then said with deep concern, “These past few days junior martial brother was hunted by the evil monsters. Even though I was outside of the East Barren, I was still piqued by their sinister acts, but I couldn’t help at all as I was outside. I felt bad for it. Fortunately, junior martial brother is really strong, you’ve survived their evil plans, and I’m feeling grateful for that. Right now, I suppose junior martial brother has advanced into the level of Atman Body already, am I right? What a shame, I don’t even know what my own junior martial brother’s Yuan Shen looks like, can I have a look?”

Zhong Yue had cultivated the【Monster God Ming King Art】. Every time he used his Yuan Shen he would amend it with the【Monster God Ming King Art】into the figure of the Monster God Ming King, an eight-armed celestial being, completely erasing the true face of his Yuan Shen.

Hence, only a certain few people knew what his Yuan Shen was.

It was exactly like how Shi Buyi had done it. Some conjectured that his true form was a lion, but no one knew exactly what his Yuan Shen looked like, it was really mysterious.

Zhong Yue was alert, but remained calm visibly, a blurred expression that was like a smile but it actually wasn’t climbed on his face as he asked, “Why does big senior martial brother want to look at my Yuan Shen?”

Lang Qingyun smiled and replied, “I hear that junior martial brother’s Yuan Shen has six eyes that look like moons, it’s truly marvelous. Could it be that junior martial brother has the moon spirit? The dragon race is indeed mysterious, so strong that it can allow its disciple to manifest the moon spirit and acquire the moon spirit Yuan Shen. Hmm, the moon spirit Yuan Shen, it’s very rare to come by one.”

Zhong Yue’s eyebrows quivered lightly, he hadn’t used the moon spirit Yuan Shen in the East Barren, he had only cast it out few times, and those who had seen it were mostly dead, except for a certain few lucky ones who has survived.

It was impossible to hide it from the monster race, but seeing it was one thing, and recognizing it as the moon spirit was another!

Zhong Yue laughed insincerely, he said, “Senior martial brother can recognize the moon spirit, junior martial brother is also shocked.”

Their eyes met one another until Lang Qingyun shifted his gaze away, he said with a laugh, “There are Qi Practitioners who have acquired the moon spirit among the celestial race of the West Barren, it’s not something special for me to be able to recognize the moon spirit.”

While Zhong Yue also said with a laugh, “And it’s also not something special for the others such as me to also manifest the moon spirit.”

Lang Qingyun laughed out loud and so did Zhong Yue, leaving Lian Xin puzzled at them, not knowing what were they laughing at.

He is the one who killed Xiao Chuqing!

Lang Qingyun’s eyes turned dark and gloomy as he thought, He has snatched Xiao Chuqing’s moon spirit!

Rays also flashed in Zhong Yue’s eyes, Lang Qingyun is from the Xiao Mang Celestial Race!
