Within Angel of Fear’s body, Saleen’s clan badge was unleashing a devouring ability that was powerful and terrifying. Even if Saleen used the clan badge to train his mental strength, it would absorb all the energy in his body in an instant.

The appetite of the badge had grown. Ever since it repelled the attack from the grade-10 lightning dragon, the clan badge’s ability to absorb energy had increased by multiple times, otherwise Saleen would not have needed half a year’s time to fill up the energy in the badge, even though he had advanced to grade-8.

Although the Angel of Fear was at grade-12, it was not enough for the badge. The Angel of Fear froze for a second. In that one second, she was unable to launch any attacks. She could only watch Saleen release her grip and calmly take back the wind dragon before putting the golden heart into a leather bag.

One second later, all of the Angel of Fear’s energy has been absorbed by the badge, where a deep sound of lightning rumbling before there was silence once again. Without a limit on its power, the broken jade that Shanglan had left behind was able to absorb the soul. Saleen then unleashed the lightning rule on the broken jade without hesitation.

The two souls were being pummeled by the blue electric current. Saleen did not wish to hear whatever the Angel of Fear had to say, so he turned and left.

Nailisi was originally running in another direction, but when she saw Angel of Fear pursuing Saleen, she had no choice but to run towards them instead.

Nailisi’s nightmare was much faster than Saleen’s. When she saw that Saleen had managed to resist the Angle of Fear, she was relieved. It was at that moment that the 24 ancient warriors came over.

Nailisi ran her lance through the Angel of Fear’s body, creating a huge hole in it. The latter did not resist as she was in a state of unconsciousness. Although her body was still standing, her soul was in so much pain that her body was unable to feel anything.

The strikes of Nailisi’s long lance rained down like a storm. She had been scared out of her wits by the Angel of Fear’s attack previously, so then she was venting out her emotions. In the blink of an eye, the Angel of Fear had been pierced so many times that there were holes all over her body. The Angel of Fear’s body was slightly different from the pests. Only her hair still carried the smell of dirt and dust, but the organs in her body were more or less like a human’s with flesh and blood.

When the flesh and blood was absorbed by Nailisi’s long lance, the six eyes on the lance blinked at the same time. They secretly absorbed a large amount of flesh and blood when the long lance pierced into the Angel of Fear’s body. Although the flesh and blood did not harness any powers, it still possessed a lot of energy after being broken down.

If Nailisi was able to devour a grade-12 creature, her powers would increase tremendously, and she might even be able to unlock her sixth power. Nailisi was smart enough to know that the Angel of Fear’ grade would be stuck forever, while the powers that she had gained in the past would still continue to advance.

As a demon of the Luoluokaluo bloodline, she instinctively understood that if she devoured the Angel of Fear, then her greatest accomplishment in this life would just be becoming a grade-12 Luoluokaluo.

Nailisi would not have wanted that, even in the past. Now that she realized that the powers of the entire Mainland were increasing, it was all the more reason she must not set her sights only on reaching grade-12.

Nailisi stopped her attack and that was when the holes in the Angel of Fear finally began to heal themselves. When Nailisi was injured by the silverline golden spearfish earlier on, she was unable to heal the wound on her own. In comparison, even though the Angel of Fear’s powers had been absorbed by Saleen’s clan badge, she was still able to heal her wounds in about 10 seconds just by using the minimal energy within her flesh and blood.

“Nailisi, stop!” Saleen seemed to sense something. His elemental eyes helped him realize that the way in which the Angel of Fear was healing her body was different from anything he had seen before. That method of healing was similar to a simple conversion of energy. In other words, although the Angel of Fear had flesh and blood, she did not need to convert her energy into materials that could be absorbed by her physical body.

A grade-12 creature would absorb energy directly.

What really caught Saleen’s attention was the skin of the Angel of Fear. It was stronger than any magic beast’s skin he had ever seen before. All of a sudden, he recalled an equipment that he had always wanted to refine. The Angel of Fear was eight yards tall, so there was a lot of skin surface area. Since he had no intentions of subduing her, he had no qualms using up every bit of her body parts!

Nailisi kept her lance, but did not forget what Saleen had promised her, so she quickly took Angel of Fear’s long knife for herself. When she finally grabbed onto the long knife, her entire body trembled uncontrollably as all the black faces on the long knife howled at the same time.

Without the help of the Angel of Fear, there was a limit to the power of the black faces. Nailisi trembled for a moment before becoming enraged. She grabbed onto one of the faces and ripped it off. The black face turned into fog, which Nailisi promptly swallowed.

Very quickly, Nailisi had managed to rip off more than 10 faces, revealing the body of the knife to be misty blue in color. The remaining 10 or so faces tried to seep into the knife to hide, but Nailisi decided to open her mouth wide and insert the knife into it. She sucked in deeply and the remaining faces were all swallowed up.

Nailisi smacked her lips and said to herself, “They are all trash without many powers to be absorbed. Fortunately, I did not try to swallow the Angel of Fear, or not only would I have offended Master, my grade would also have been restricted in the future.” In the past, a bloodline like Luoluokaluo was much more powerful and grade-12 was nothing to them.

Besides, the supreme demons and devils in the past were also of much higher grades than present day, where grade-9 Professionals would be able to handle them easily.

Saleen stopped Nailisi from venting her anger on Angel of Fear. By then, the latter had already regained consciousness. She sensed that her soul had been sucked into a mysterious object. The power harnessed by the object was not something she could fight against.

“Spare me!” Angel of Fear knelt on the floor and began to plead with Saleen. She was the product of countless soul shards devouring each other for tens of thousands of years. Two Angels of Fear and four powerful souls appeared only because there was no one else in the Imperial City of the Abyss that could control them. In the past, the pests would be exterminated by humans very quickly, so there was no way two Angels of Fear could appear at the same time. Their souls would not have been allowed to grow either, for they would have been dissected by the humans way before that. Although the Angel of Fear was only grade-12, its entire body was full of valuable resources which humans greatly desired.

On the broken jade, the Angel of Fear detected power that only the ancient humans possessed, so she immediately chose to surrender.

“Spare you?” Saleen smiled. His smile was usually warm and gentle, but the Angel of Fear shivered upon seeing it.

“You almost killed a creature bonded to me and you want me to spare you?”

“It is merely a creature bonded to you!”

“I treat him as my friend. Give up. I can tell that the source of your power comes from the fear in the depths of your soul. Now, let me help you understand what fear really is.”

With that, Saleen flew up and with the Quickcloud spell wrapped around his body, he came to the Angel of Fear’s head and inserted his shriveled left hand into her mouth. His hand went around inside her mouth and felt for a moment, before pulling out.

A broken jade flew out of Angel of Fear’s mouth and Saleen held onto it.

The color in her eyes vanished instantaneously. Saleen said, “Nailisi, help me peel off her skin then find me my clan badge.”

“Yes, Master.” Nailisi smiled. Since Saleen had taken back the broken jade, that meant that he had no intention of retaining the Angel of Fear’s soul. In that case, Nailisi could feed the Angel of Fear’s body to her long lance. The long lance was made of outstanding material as it was not damaged at all by the Angel of Fear’s long knife.

Nailisi had no idea that, although Saleen’s alchemy technique had yet to reach its peak, his water flame alchemy was one of the best alchemy techniques on the Myers Mainland. The structures of the six eyes on her long lance were not destroyed at all by water flame, and in fact, most of their abilities had been conserved.

Besides, silverline golden spearfish had always been the natural enemies of single-horned white whales. The materials that made up their spears were rarely used by the humans in the past. If not for the fact that the silverline golden spearfish’s grade was too low, Nailisi could have easily finished off the Angel of Fear with the weapon.

After putting the knife and lance, Nailisi came over to the Angel of Fear. Saleen said, “Don’t damage the skin over her chest and back. I want to refine something.”

“Understood,” Nailisi replied. She jumped onto the Angel of Fear’s shoulder and parted her hair before spitting out the Dragon Crystal Needle in her mouth and using it to split apart the scalp. After that, Nailisi pondered for a moment before transforming into her devil-form. She bent down and carefully pulled on the Angel of Fear’s hair to peel apart the skin gently.

The Angel of Fear’s soul, which was in the broken jade, sensed what Nailisi was doing and began to howl wildly. The attack was fully contained in the broken jade and even induced an electric current attack in the broken jade.

Saleen laughed coldly and said to the soul in the broken jade, “Not all enemies deserve to be respected. There was once a powerful enemy that refused to bow to me. In the end, he was completely wiped off the Mainland, including his soul. I will give him respect. As for you, you are just a monster. You don’t deserve to have a soul. I’m not even interested in making you my subordinate.”

The person that Saleen was talking about was Ismail. He felt regret towards Ismail and the Angel of Fear reminded him of those painful memories. That was why he could not keep the Angel of Fear by his side; she would only remind him of the past.

Saleen knew that he was still a little weak. His teacher was right in saying that Saleen needed to have more confidence, faith, and courage like he never knew before. Otherwise, even if his clan badge could attack continuously without any restraints, he would still be a weakling who hid behind the clan badge and would never become truly strong and powerful.
