The Great Ruler

 The fourth year after the Great Thousand World Alliance’s army went to war, they returned to the Great Thousand World. They did not do so secretly, but announced it to all of the people in the Great Thousand World.

Although the army had managed to weaken the strength of the Extraterritorial Race, they could not stop the Heavenly Evil Deity from regaining his strength. Hence, they knew that the Extraterritorial Race would come and attack the Great Thousand World as soon as the Heavenly Evil Deity was back to his fighting form.

When the people and forces of the Great Thousand World heard about this, it caused a great commotion, as they were all quite worried. After all, the Heavenly Evil Deity had inflicted great fear in their hearts.

In order to calm the people down, the Flame Emperor and Martial Ancestor arranged for the army of the Great Thousand World Alliance to guard the border between the Great Thousand World and the Demon’s Domain. As such, they were alert and vigilant at all times, staying prepared for the Extraterritorial Race’s counterattack.

Half a year passed by quickly as the Great Thousand World continued to take these precautionary measures. Although the atmosphere was tense, it remained under control thanks to the leadership of the Flame Emperor and Martial Ancestor. As time passed, instead of feeling anxious, the forces in the Great Thousand World started to get frustrated.

Specifically, they were frustrated at the Extraterritorial Race, and all of them began grumbling in their hearts…

Since you want to destroy our Great Thousand World, we might as well fight it out with you, dragging you along with us! After all, we are going to die anyway!

With such thoughts filling their hearts and minds, many top powers in the Great Thousand World broke through their cultivation levels, thus increasing their strengths tremendously. This was especially so among the Complete Earthly Sovereigns, who put away their previous fears and started to work up to the Heavenly Sovereign level.

Although some of them failed, many also succeeded. As such, the overall strength of the Great Thousand World had enhanced greatly due to these initiatives taken by the top powers.

It was for this reason that the people of the Great Thousand World no longer felt anxious. Instead, they actually started to look forward to the coming of the Extraterritorial Race.

They had decided that, come what may, they might as well fight it out and put an end to things sooner rather than later. As the people of the Great Thousand World waited for the war to begin, another half a year passed.

At the border of the Great Thousand World, within the Northwest Defense Team.

Within a long stretch of mountain range, five people stood on a mountain peak and looked around them with eyes that were as sharp as eagles’ eyes. These people were from the expedition team.

Four of them were Lower Earthly Sovereigns, while the remaining one was at the Compete Earthly Sovereign level. They had been tasked with checking all of the areas of this particular region.

“Team Leader, we have been here for two months,” one of the Lower Earthly Sovereigns said, while he stretched himself out lazily and looked into the distance. Upon seeing that there were no abnormal movements, he felt bored.

“Are you complaining that it is too peaceful?” The team leader, who was at the Complete Earthly Sovereign level, glanced at him, then said flatly, “Don’t worry. Soon, you will miss this peaceful time.”

The team leader knew that once the Extraterritorial Race showed up, there would be endless bloodshed in the Great Thousand World. Upon hearing his words, the other team members were silent and looked grim.

Given their strength, they would have been able to rule over an entire area of the Great Thousand World and make a name for themselves a few years ago. However, at the moment, they could only form a small team and guard the frontline of the Great Thousand World.

Yet, they still knew that this task was a great responsibility that they could not avoid. After all, if they were to shirk such a great responsibility, the Great Thousand World would be destroyed and their family and friends would be killed.

“Team Leader, will we be able to defeat the Extraterritorial Race? I heard that the Heavenly Evil Deity will appear once he is back in fighting shape. He is said to be quite horrifying!” One of the team members shuddered.

The team leader was silent for a while before he replied, “According to what I have heard, once the Heavenly Evil Deity is back in fighting shape, the Flame Emperor and Martial Ancestor will be no match for him, even if they join forces to take him on together.”

When the four team members heard this, they were shocked and grew pale. The Flame Emperor and Martial Ancestor were considered to be the leaders of the entire Great Thousand World. They were the ones who had turned the situation around and saved the Great Thousand World, putting them in the position to finally be able to contend with the Extraterritorial Race.

However, even the team leader had just admitted that the Flame Emperor and Martial Ancestor would be no match for the Heavenly Evil Deity once he was in fighting shape! This was not a good sign!

When the team leader saw their dejected looks, he suddenly smiled and said, “However, there is still hope for us! I have just received another piece of news that there is one more martial artist, who is currently working on transcending the Divine Heavenly Sovereign level. If he succeeds in doing so, there will be three of such beings in our Great Thousand World, and they will be able to deal with the Heavenly Evil Deity!”

The four team members immediately braced themselves as one of them asked, “Is it Lord Qin Tian? Is it the Green Shirt Sword Saint? Or… Is it the Sovereign Divine Beast?”

The team leader shook his head, then lowered his voice and sounded secretive as he said, “I heard that he is the one from the Mu Estate.”

“The Mu Estate? Are you referring to Mu Chen?” The four of them shouted in unison, while each of their faces was filled with amazement.

They found this to be truly unbelievable. After all, nothing had been heard about Mu Chen for the past few years. He had been keeping a low profile. Thus, the Great Thousand World only remembered him now for the incident that had taken place in Maha Continent, when he fought with Maha Tian.

Back then, Mu Chen was only at the God Grade Heavenly Sovereign level. Although he possessed the strength to contend with the Divine Heavenly Sovereigns, there was still a great disparity between him and people like Qin Tian, who was at the later stage of the Divine Heavenly Sovereign level.

The four team members were shocked to learn that the third person who was working toward leaving his name on the Heaven’s Declaration was Mu Chen.

“Since the Flame Emperor and Martial Ancestor acknowledge him and think that he can accomplish such a feat, it is useless for you to make any further speculations. Do you not think that the two of them have better foresights than you?” the team leader asked with a smile.

The four team members smiled when they heard what the team leader had just said, and they all started to loosen up. After all, the Flame Emperor and Martial Ancestor were highly respected in the Great Thousand World, and everyone knew about them. If it was not for the two of them, before the Extraterritorial Race attacked them, the Great Thousand World would have already been ruined. As such, they would undoubtedly have the best judgment and foresight of them all.

After the team leader had said what he wanted to say, he stood up and got ready to check the surroundings again. Suddenly, he was alerted by something, and as he lifted up his head, his expression changed drastically.

This was because he saw several black meteorites that were coming down from the heavens. Moreover, they were carrying with them a destructive light! At that moment, a

vast Demonic Energy was plummeting towards the ground!

Boom!

As several meteorites landed heavily on the ground, the resulting shockwaves destroyed the entire mountain range.

“Retreat!” The team leader looked shocked as he shouted, “The Extraterritorial Race is here!”

The team members looked fearful as they turned into streamers and shot into the sky. They had to bring this news back to the rest of their people quickly!

“Hey! Where are you going?” A cold voice was heard at the very moment that they started to move. Then, a space warp appeared, while dark Demonic Claws appeared out of nowhere and grabbed the four team members!

Bang!

Before they could even fight back, the Demonic Claws had crushed them up! At the same time, there was an explosion within the space, and blood started to gush out from the four team members.

When the team leader saw this carnage, he widened his eyes in amazement. He could feel the horrifying power of the person who had attacked them, which made him believe that it must be a Demon Emperor. In light of this, he dared not stay. So, he quickly turned into several afterimages and shot into the sky to flee.

However, he came to an immediate halt shortly after, as a Demonic Shadow was slowing taking shape in front of him. It was looking at him with a pair of merciless eyes, while a vast demonic power was spreading throughout the surroundings.

“Do you think that you can escape my grasp?” the Demonic Shadow said, while laughing sharply.

The team leader looked pale, as he knew that he could not escape the Demon Emperor, whose power was comparable to a Heavenly Sovereign’s. He took a deep breath and gradually calmed himself down, while a determined look shone in his eyes.

“May the heavens bless the Great Thousand World!” the team leader shouted, and in the next instant, he shot out and headed straight towards the Demon Emperor.

Upon seeing this, the Demon Emperor curled his lips up into a devilish smile. He then got ready to stretch out his hand and crush the team leader!

Boom!

At this instant, several spiritual energy light runes appeared on the team leader’s body, while a vast spiritual energy swirled out from it. The Demon Emperor was taken aback by this new development.

Boom! Boom!

Suddenly, the team leader’s body exploded, lighting the sky up as though the sun had just risen. Spiritual energy fluctuations then raged throughout the entire area.

Numerous spiritual energy fluctuations raged within the area for a long while before they finally started to dissipate. It was at this time that the Demonic Shadow revealed himself.

He was in a sorry state. He looked pale, and it was apparent that he had not expected that the team leader would blow himself up.

“Ha. It would be too kind to let you die in this manner.” The Demon Emperor snorted and waved his sleeve. He then disappeared from the area. At the same time, several rays of demonic light glittered in the area as the Demonic Shadows darted into the distance, covering the entire area.

In a towering city that was located at the border of the Great Thousand World, myriad rays of spiritual light hung in the air, shining brightly. All of the people in the Great Thousand World felt safe underneath the protection of the spiritual light.

At the center of the city, the Flame Emperor and Martial Ancestor opened their eyes. As they did so, a cold light flashed across their eyes. As they clearly felt the spiritual energy fluctuations, they knew that they were the results of someone blowing himself up. Apparently, one of the expedition teams had a mishap…

“Are they finally here?” the Flame Emperor wondered aloud, as he and Martial Ancestor looked at each other and waved their sleeves.

At that moment, loud and ancient chiming sounds resounded within the space. The sounds were majestic, and their echoes spread to every corner of the Great Thousand World.

There were nine chiming sounds in total, and they each represented a great danger that had come upon them. When all of the people in the Great Thousand World heard the chiming sounds, they lifted up their heads and looked toward the direction of the border of the Great Thousand World. At that moment, they knew that the Exterritorial Race had finally launched their attack.
